This latest body of work by Martin Brouillette is about voyeurism and intimacy in the context of social media. The individuals represented in these portraits are all anonymous to him. His models were chosen by spending time online while brows- ing through blogs and social networks. “Creating virtual yet intimate relationships with these people is the inspiration. It is about taking what is re- vealed and turning it into what is perceived. I am ultimately a voyeur and a romantic” he says.

Martin Brouillette has a certificate in Fine Art from the University of Québec in Montréal. He works and lives in Montréal and London, UK. He was shortlisted as a finalist for the RBC New painting competition in 2003.
